Even Yogi Bear's must take their medicine...

A spoonful of yoghurt helps the medicine go down.....even if it does drip all over his chest and the floor :o)

What a really good boy he is. My husband and I have just been smiling at his photographs. He must love you so much to settle so well having had three previous homes. It speaks volumes for you!

Hi Fiona,

I know Yogi isn't being given antibiotics but I thought I would just mention to you something which happened to me in hospital at one time. I was taking antibiotics following an operation and because I loved yogurt I had ordered it for my breakfast. The yogurt didn't arrive and so I got onto the kitchen demanding where my yogurt was. Instead of telling me it didn't agree with me because I was taking antibiotics they duly sent me the yogurt (they probably thought we will sort her!!!!!!). I was being taken home that morning and I was so sick on my way home. It still didn't occur to me it was the mix I had taken - one fighting the other, until another time while taking anti biotics at home I once again ate yogurt (which I love). I was very sick again and this time it dawned on me what I had done! Just a warning not to give Yogi this mix. I hope you won't mind me mentioning it for Yogi's sake.

Thank you Lesley, I had absolutely no idea that it could have that effect. And the strange thing is that someone WAS sick and thinking back, I think it coincided with Yogi being on antibiotics ( I think I posted at the time) from his op. He only finished them early this week and when we took the photo's it was last weekend. So that could definitely have been it. That is brilliant to know. I will stick with the dairylea triangles in future! Many thanks.
I guess he could still eat that off a spoon though ? I just love watching him eat like that :o)

Fiona,

I thought I would put a search into Google to see if I could find anything on antibiotics and yogurt because it was only my experience which led me to this conclusion. It seems that contrary to all I have just said it is actually supposed to be good for you. That makes everything I said earlier rubbish! You would be better asking your vet to get things straight. One article I read did say between the antibiotic doses would be the best time to take the yogurt as it is good for diarrhea as a result of antibiotics. All I can say is I wouldn't mix them for myself as it was no coincidence I was very sick.

Regardless of what's on the spoon - he looks utterly adorable eating from it! There's something so comforting about being able to 'baby' them when they're not well!

Yes, I think I will check with the vet because he does seem to love his organic strawberry yogurt.
Graham, you are so right about the "baby" thing too. Was toying with the idea of getting him a bottle :o) Am I losing the plot????

Fiona,

I am behind in reading all my favorite blogs, so I am sorry for the late comment. I do love these photos. Yogi is quite the cutie-cute!
